Meet Kathryn, the Founding Director of WCMS and your dedicated piano mentor. With over 15 years of piano teaching experience and a versatile background that spans more than 25 years across multiple instruments, including piano, voice, guitar, drums, violin, and cello,

Kathryn brings a wealth of musical knowledge and passion to her role. Her unique journey has equipped her with the insight to create a learning environment that nurtures both the development of musical skills and the wellness aspects associated with music.

Whether you're a beginner or an advanced student, Kathryn is here to guide you on your piano journey and provide you with a personalised, enriching experience.

Kiara embodies the warmth and support that welcomes you into the WCMS community and stands by your side throughout your musical voyage.

Kiara is a dedicated mentor for students in both Singing and Piano. After obtaining her Cert IV in Musical Theatre, Kiara shifted her career towards music education.

With a decade of teaching experience, she specialises in guiding students who may be dealing with depression, anxiety, and other neurodiversities, providing them with an understanding and empathetic approach to music education that's as unique as they are.

Marie is the creative genius responsible for the incredible atmosphere that envelops our studio. Beyond her role in setting the tone for our musical community, Marie serves as a senior Piano and Singing Mentor. Her extensive background as a multi-instrumentalist and her wealth of industry experience offer students a one-of-a-kind perspective on the world of music.

Marie's expertise doesn't stop there; she excels in working with both children and adults who have neurodiversities. Her talent lies in establishing safe, nurturing, and empowering learning environments that cater to the unique needs of each student. With Marie as your guide, you'll embark on a musical journey filled with creativity, support, and inspiration.

Ella has been a part of the music world from a young age, beginning her journey through the UWA Junior Music School and later completing AMEB and ANZCA examinations in voice and piano with high distinctions. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Performance in Classical Voice at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.

Ella is passionate about creating safe, positive, and expressive learning environments. Her work as choir director of the St George’s Mockingbirds strengthened her belief that music should be accessible to everyone. Leading a diverse ensemble and crafting polished pop arrangements highlighted for her the power of collaboration, community, and joyful music-making.

Ella believes every student brings something unique to the instrument. Her teaching style is gentle, patient, and student-centred, focusing on confidence, creativity, and building a nurturing space where students feel supported, inspired, and proud of their progress.

Zalman is a well-rounded musician who has engaged in everything from live performance, songwriting, film score composition, sound design, studio recording and audiovisual events work. Discovering a passion for learning the keyboard at a young age, followed by electric and then acoustic guitar, he has since dedicated many years to learning music, including four years completing an Advanced Diploma of Music Performance and an Advanced Diploma of Sound Production.

Zalman has also picked up a myriad of other fun instruments along the way, including ocarina, ukulele, cajon, djembe, kashaka, drums and bass guitar. He has always been very fond of instrumental music, especially from video games, Disney and other animated musicals.

He has an eagerly curious spirit, openly welcomes the passions of others and is someone who loves to delve deep into learning so that he can then excitedly share that knowledge. He specialises in music theory, composition, rhythm, working with neurodivergence and understanding motivation.

Indigo is a spirited and easy-going singer who holds an Advanced Diploma in Music Performance. Her infectious energy and enthusiasm are evident in her approach to teaching, creating consistently inspiring, judgement-free, and engaging learning environments for her students.

Indigo has a special talent for working with absolute beginner pianists, dedicating herself to ensuring that every student feels safe, secure, and comfortable during each lesson.

With an Advanced Diploma in Music, Logan brings years of experience teaching piano to young beginners, including extensive work with neurodiverse students. His multi-instrumentalist background ensures his piano students become well-rounded musicians. Logan is especially talented in teaching songwriting on the piano and helping pianists learn to play and sing simultaneously.

He believes in a fun and practical approach to teaching, focusing on the joy of musical expression. Logan understands that while musical theory and technique are important, the true magic of playing the piano comes from letting each child's unique feelings and experiences shine through their music.

With decades of experience in both the classroom and the studio, this mentor brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every lesson. He holds formal teaching qualifications and has worked extensively in curriculum development, making him a strong choice for students who thrive with structure, clear goals, and thoughtful feedback.

Known for his high standards and deep understanding of music education, he offers lessons in piano, voice, guitar, and drums — and is especially well-suited to students who are eager to be challenged, grow quickly, or take their musicianship to the next level.

While he prefers to stay out of the spotlight, his impact is felt in the progress his students make and the passion for music he helps instil.

Nicholas is an accomplished pianist with an ABRSM Grade 8 Distinction in Piano Performance. He brings a patient and encouraging approach to every lesson, helping students develop confidence, musical awareness, and strong technique.

With experience supporting students through AMEB and ABRSM exams as well as performance preparation, Nicholas enjoys guiding learners as they discover their sound and express their creativity through music.

Dennis is an exceptional guitarist and pianist with a deep love of instrumental music. He began playing electric guitar at 15 and has since completed a Certificate IV in Music Performance and a Diploma of Contemporary Music. Dennis is currently in his third year of a Bachelor of Contemporary Music.

As an active collaborator within the Perth music community, Dennis draws inspiration from jazz greats such as Joe Pass and Pat Metheny, with a particular passion for jazz and jazz fusion. His teaching is grounded in musicality, listening skills, and expressive playing.

Dennis brings a thoughtful and supportive approach to his lessons, with a strong understanding of sound sensitivity and ADHD. He is particularly skilled at helping students recognise their individual sensitivities and transform them into strengths, creating a calm, encouraging environment where students can grow in confidence and creativity.
